Welcome back to the first half of the summer term. For our Year 6 children this means that it's time for SATs- the timetable is below. They are working really hard in preparation for this and it'll be over before they realise! They can then look forward to their residential trip to Kilve Court or the planned activities week in school.

We will all enjoy a 'Jubilee Day', later in the term, in celebration of the Queen's Platinum Jubilee and will be doing some art work connected to this: a picnic on the field has also been planned.

In PE this term, the children will be doing archery and athletics. As the weather warms up, children might need hats for PE  and perhaps sun cream. As soon as is possible, PE will transfer to the field.

We will be continuing our music tuition on Friday afternoons with Mr Glynn: the children have taken to the Bamboo Tamboo and Steel Pans very quickly and are already demonstrating very good skills.

As always, please contact me via email if you have any queries or questions which arise during the term

Welcome to Babylon class ( often known by the class as 'Team Thompson'). We have made a fantastic start already to our new school year together including pretending we were characters from our core text 'Street Child' and performing a 'freeze frame' of a dramatic scene ( some images below) and also pretending to be scientists sharing information on a children's TV programme.

This week we are looking forward to our traditional 'It's a Knockout' competition- a day which often ends up with the majority of children getting rather soggy.

We have included on the Long Term Plan for the term- see below- some early dates for your diary. We are unable yet to confirm when the planned trip to Morwellham Quay will take place.

If you have any questions, please feel free to email me: or pop in to the classroom at the end of the day.

Many thanks

Mrs Thompson
