Music

Pupils are taught to sing and play musically with increasing confidence and control.
In year three they are introduced to developing an understanding of musical composition, organising and manipulating ideas. They play and perform in solo and ensemble contexts, using their voices and playing musical instruments with increasing accuracy, fluency, control and expression.
All children are involved in collective worship where they listen to different compositions of music. They also enjoy singing during collective worship and song time. This is especially noticeable with their enthusiasm for special performances such as Christmas, Easter and they especially enjoy sharing their prowess when we have visitors to the school.
Through our history topics we also research the arts which include music and the children especially enjoy finding out how particular instruments were made and played.
We also have a choir who love to share their skills with the community and make people very happy.
