St Budeaux Foundation

CofE (Aided) Junior School

Home Page

The Governing Body of St Budeaux CofE (Aided) Foundation School meets formally a minimum of six times a year.  The governors are responsible for setting the strategic framework of the school and monitoring its implementation.  It acts as a 'critical friend' by holding the Headteacher to account for the educational performance of the school and its pupils.  The Governing Body also oversees the finances of the school; making sure money is well spent.

If you would like to contact the governors for any reason, either ring the school office and ask for a message to be passed on to Mrs Helen Peirce - Clerk to Governors or email

Mrs Cathy Drage

Mrs Drage is the head teacher at St Budeaux Foundation School.

I have been the headteacher of St Budeaux Foundation school since 2016. I am extremely proud to be the headteacher of a school that has been around for over 300 years.  The school was originally built in 1717 and was set up for 6 boys and girls of the St Budeaux Parish, to support them with their education.  The school had moved positions but has always had the ethos to do the very best for the children in its care.  Mrs Drage is also especially proud to be the very first female headteacher at the school.  The school is like one big family, were everyone looks out for each other.  This ensures that all children feel cared for and respected, and therefore work hard and reach their full potential.  Mrs Drage is an avid animal lover and passionate about the environment, which she shares with the children and supports them in understanding how we can all play our own part in helping our world!
